Bruno Mars it will Rain

Looking at Bruno Mars video I have been interested in a lot of the shots, conventions and elements that they use to influence my own media piece.
I like the use of meting the conventions of the genre that it is a slow and romantic video that there is this closeness of the couples showing that they are hitting the audience needs as this is what they expect from this style of music.

When I was watching the video I realised there is narrative and performance which I really like the way they have done this through the cross cuts and also the colour changes which is relating to the music video. It is about the good and bad of a relationship which he is singing about the women leaving so it has a blue tint to the video and when it is all nice on the narrative it has the un beaming through the shots relating well to the audience.

The use of the narrative and performance to can see a clear different in the expressions of the character i like the way you can see Bruno Mar's face clearly when he is happy and as soon as it turns to sad you can not see his face. The mood turns quickly through the piece and the used of close up shots and mid shots also change quickly relating well to the music.

The back shots of Bruno builds the climax to the argument and it does this a lot with the girl in the shots as well.

I like the use of the mise-en-scene which he used a guitar that made the piece feel that it fitted the genre better as acoustic it related well and the extreme close up dominates the instrument.

Wanted Warzone

The Wanted : Warzone video i chose to annotate as I liked the way that it has used narrative and performance and the way in which they have decided to construct this.
Through the narrative of the music video they have used each singer as a protagonist but have kept the antagonist the same as the male character that identity is concealed.

I like how they have used the mid shots of each protagonist this shows the character at the same part of the storyline, the fast cuts shows a good pace with the music making it connect with the narrative.

With the performance they have fitted them all together well, having a long shot of all of them showing strong body language has portrayed the anger of the narrative.

Ben Howard Keep Your Head Up

In Ben Howards video i really enjoyed the locational shots it made me think about how the angles can be shot in a location such as fields with the sunset , the silouette of the trees and the lead singer really has this great effect of hitting the audience needs of the genre of music as acoustic has a relaxed, peaceful feel.
This music video has a non-structured narrative as it shows people building a slide through the woods it doesnt relate to the song at all, yet some how it works the performance isnt involed either and so it sort of more for the audiecne it makes you want to watch it because its a utopian pleasure is what everyone would love to do making it attracted the audience.

I like how they have the forset in the shots when they go down the slide the different anlges of long and mid shots are very effective like the camera that is in front of his face as he goes down making you feel like you are within the film as well.

Joe Brooks Superman

Joe Brooks-Superman i wanted to analyse this product as its related to the genre theme of indie acoustic music, this hybrid genre shows much about the way narrative and performance can fit well together.
In this first shot it shows the narrative in the background from mise-en-scene of his bedroom yet the way that the shot has been framed it shows that the performances is shown through as well that is why he is not mid of the shots he is to the side.
i like the use of lighting that they have used it gives a happy mood and creates this feeling of love which is what the song is about.

I feel that the narrative that is created by the lyrics slowly start to become more real as the music video continues on as it creates a reality of utopian pleasures throught the use of connection with the audience and how it all becomes this abstract way of life when he puts on a cape and looks like superman litteraly using his lyrics.

The locations are interesting the sunsets really show a great atmosphere at set the mood for the song which i feel would really work well with my final piece of my music video.

Ed Sheeran Lego House

This is the video by Ed Sheeran called lego house this is the artist i am think of using as i like the idea of using acoustic music so i wanted to look at what cuts and edits the artist uses himself.

The use of the cross cuts to different locations i felt this really worked for the performer as it relates to the narrative and helps to connect the two as a protagonist it helps the audience to feel sympathy.
I like the way that he has used the outdoors as a location as it creates the atmosphere for a acoustic player as they have a peaceful effect with the sun out and the fresh air.
